Classic Steel Hull Motoryacht, Detroit Diesel, Generator, Dual Stations
The Steelcraft Custom 52 built by the Russel Brothers at Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, offers a two-stateroom, upper and lower helm stations, full galley, and two full baths. She is built of solid steel hull construction. A dependable Diesel 8V71 Diesel powers her with a newly installed Next Generation 22Kw generator. The Steelcraft also has a bow thruster to make docking easier and has a 50 HP Perkins "auxiliary" engine.
The upper helm sports a pair of J-lounges with a center-positioned helm wheel and dash. At the helm, you'll find throttle and transmission controls for both engines, along with a Garmin GPSmap 741xs, gauges to monitor both engines, and a compass.
The upper helm windows are Isinglass that can be opened to allow in fresh air.
The enclosed lower helm station is located to port. It has throttle/transmission controls for the Detroit Diesel as well as the bow thruster. There are also gauges to monitor the Detroit Diesel.
There is a charter area on the starboard side of the helm station with a map drawer. All the windows in the enclosed helm have been replaced and are in excellent condition.
There are two passageways leading down into the Steelcraft. One set of stairs leads to the forward cabin area, with the other leading to the mid and aft sections of the vessel.
Transversing a set of stairs down to the mid and aft section, you'll find the galley on the port side with a master bath to starboard.
The galley features a refrigerator/freezer, a stainless-steel sink, a counter-top microwave, an electric stove, and an oven. There are also plenty of cupboard and drawer storage areas.
Across from the galley is one of the two full baths. You'll find a Vetus electric-flush toilet (upgrade), a sink with vanity, a shower, and plenty of cabinet storage.
Moving forward into the forward cabin, you'll find berths on the port and starboard sides, both with pull-out drawer storage underneath. There is a dresser with drawers just inside the entry, and another on the hatch into what was once the crew quarters, which is now used for storage.
Entry from the enclosed helm is to the navigation station, second full bath, and aft stateroom is down a flight of stairs.
The helm station has a bench seat, a table top, and drawer storage with a half wall separating it from the aft stateroom.
There is a queen bed with pull-out storage drawers below on the port side and a single berth to starboard with storage beneath the mattress.
You'll also find in wall-unit air conditioner mounted to the aft wall.
The master bath with sink, shower, and Vetus toilet (upgrade), as well as cabinet and drawer storage.
The bow area is spacious, and a bow railing was added for safety. A windlass makes for easy setting and retrieval of the anchor.
The two-tier aft deck is spacious with lots of room to hang out and enjoy the outdoors, and includes a large sun awning that provides shade over the area when open.
